The Moranbong Band is an all female pop group formed in North Korea by Kim Jong-un as a counter to South Korean K-pop. Unlike their South Korean counterparts all of the members of the band are classically trained and play all of their own instruments. They are known as North Korea's Spice Girls.

In 1324 the king of Mali, Mansa Musa went on a pilgrimage to Mecca. On the way he gave so much gold to the poor and bought so many souvenirs with gold that he caused a recession in Egypt that lasted 10 years. When he heard what he had caused he borrowed all of the gold back at high interest rates.

In 1990 two men dressed as police and banged on the door of the Isabella Gardner Stewart Museum in Boston saying that there had been reports of a robbery. When the guards opened the door the men tied them up and made off with over $500m in paintings. Neither the art nor the men have ever been found.

In 1968 a man in Japan dressed as a motorcycle policeman and used his disguise to stop an armoured car. He then told the driver and guard that there was a bomb in the vehicle. When they got out he got in and drove off. He got away with roughly $10m and has never been caught or the money found.

In 1911, Sarah Rector, an 11 year old girl whose parents were freed slaves, became an instant millionaire when oil was found on the land that was granted to her by the government. Such was her wealth that the government tried to declare her as being white so she could ride First Class on trains.

In 1936 Orson Welles staged an all black production of Macbeth in Harlem, a groundbreaking endeavour for the time. The play, which became known as "Voodoo Macbeth" was so popular that the crowds on opening night stretched for more than five blocks. Welles called it his life's greatest achievement.
